FAQs

I’m new to therapy, what’s the first step?

Starting therapy can be daunting, and I aim to make the process as seamless and tailored as possible. With that in mind, I offer a brief, free phone consultation to any potential patient, so that I can get a sense of what they’re coping with and determine if my style is a good fit.

Providing CBT meets your needs and we both feel comfortable moving forward, we will schedule an initial consultation. The initial consultation is designed to gather more information about your concerns and background and for you to experience how I work. During the consultation, you will learn more about CBT and we will collaboratively set goals for our work together.

What are your fees and how does scheduling work?

My fees for the initial consultation and each 45 minute session thereafter range from $250-350. I provide an invoice after each session, which can be submitted to your insurer should you receive out of network reimbursement for my services. I accept credit cards for payments and payment is expected at the time of session. Any late cancellation (24 hours or less) or no-show appointments will be charged in full, as per my policy.

With regard to scheduling, I aim to maintain daytime and evening availability Monday through Thursday to accommodate a variety of schedules. I value consistency and your time and, as such, we will select a weekly, regular time that works for both of us.

Are you offering in-person sessions?

At this time, my practice is entirely remote. A HIPAA-compliant video software is used for all telehealth sessions. I have found that my patients appreciate the ease of remote therapy, especially because they don’t have to worry about commuting or taking extra time out of their day for sessions!

Why Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?

I was trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is an evidence-based treatment that’s been found to be effective in treating a variety of different mental health concerns. CBT is very goal-oriented, collaborative, and structured, which I find helps build rapport with patients, monitor progress, and keep sessions focused. I firmly believe in the power of CBT to help empower patients by teaching them skills and strategies to navigate their daily lives.
